Moodlab Psychotherapy

Whitney Coulson, LCSW

Whitney Coulson, LCSW, is a therapist for people who expect more from therapy. As the founder and lead clinician at Moodlab Psychotherapy, she has built a practice that reflects her belief: mental health care can be both deeply affirming and uncompromisingly effective.

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience, Whitney earned her Master of Social Work from NYU with a focus on social justice–oriented practice and holds certifications in DBT and trauma-informed care. She is proudly queer, neurodivergent, and dedicated to creating spaces where all parts of a client’s identity are welcomed and respected.

In addition to her private practice, Whitney serves as Clinical Lead at Lyra Health’s Morgan Stanley onsite program, mentors newer clinicians, and continues to advocate for accessible, affirming care for marginalized communities.

Whitney’s style is clear, grounded, and intentional. She brings together advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, trauma recovery, and psychodynamic and relational approaches, tailoring her work to each client’s needs. Her clients often describe her as the person who finally “gets it” — and helps them get to the heart of what they truly want She’s known for her rare ability to meet clients where they are while challenging them to move beyond what’s holding them back. Whitney is collaborative, thoughtful, and committed to helping clients move beyond insight into action.

Whitney works with adults and couples navigating anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, identity, and complex relationship patterns. She has a particular expertise in serving LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and high-achieving clients — especially those who are used to taking care of everyone else.
